Important: this feature is in beta - the model is still being refined and may show misleading information at times.

Waterspeed leverages the sensors of the Apple Watch and an AI model to detect paddle or rowing movements. This allows us to count strokes and display stroke rate and distance per stroke.

Real-Time Stroke Rate

The goal of this feature is to provide you with a real-time stroke rate on the Apple Watch. You can select the related screen from the settings or by tapping the screen to see the SPM (Strokes Per Minute).

Detailed Analysis

At the end of the activity, you’ll see the total stroke rate, distance per stroke, and max rate in 60 seconds on the Activity page. In the chart, you can overlay speed on stroke rate and pace on stroke rate. By clicking on "Split analyses," you can view the stroke rate and distance per stroke by distance split (e.g., every KM).

Help us improve the feature!

Your patience and feedback during this phase are invaluable. If you’d like to help us improve Stroke Insights, you can join the Beta Program. This program allows you to test new updates, and report issues before they are released to all users.

How to Join the Beta Program:

  1. Open the app on your iPhone.

  2. Click on the Beta label near the Stroke data on the activity page.

  3. Follow the instructions to join.
